Two Black Cadillac's

So I've also tried my hand at Directing a mini video. I love the song "Two Black Cadillacs"  by Carrie Underwood. So, I created a video using that song and my images.

66 Thunderbird

So, in 66 Ford did the same thing Cadillac had been doing with the reverse lights on the Thunderbird. Using photoshop I created this Giff showing the tail lights on then the reverse lights on. If you look closely, I even adjusted the gear selector to look like it shifts into reverse.

68 Cadillac Coupe Deville Reverse lights

The 60's were a really great time to be alive and old enough to drive. Car manufacturers were making some great things. Most of which we don't have anymore.

For the longest time, I couldn't figure out where the reverse lights were on the 62 through 68 Cadillacs. I'd only ever seen them in model form which when not painted right you don't get an idea. I don't remember how I figured it out. But somehow I did. The reverse lights were built into the taillights. When the lights were on or brakes were applied, the lights would be solid red. When reverse was selected, the backup lights would light up in the lower area of the light. When lights weren't on during daylight the upper and lower section looked white, like reverse lights. Something I thought Cadillac had resurrected on the last generation (Square body) fleetwood Sedans. But no, they only gave it the illusion of this. Reverse lights were still on both sides of the license plate.

Anyway using photoshop I created this image making a Giff which shows the brake lights then the reverse lights.

66 F100 Hidden Headlights

Here's another image I created using photoshop and making a Giff out of. This was inspired by an image I saw a long time ago. I think it may have been in a "Truckin" magazine or something like that. They did a small article on a custom truck show down south I believe. Someone took a shot of the line of trucks coming up the road. One was an old Ford pickup about this same year. And they'd added the hidden headlight grill work from a 67 Thunderbird in the front. I thought the idea was soo cool and wanted to see it in action. So, I created this.

Ford LTD Hidden Headlight

I have been having some fun with making Gif images. I created this one with the headlight opening on a 78 Ford LTD Wagon. I love these old fords. And I'm a sucker for the hidden headlights.

Betty White with a 58 Plymouth

So, I found this image on line of Betty White standing next to a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible. In the image, the Plymouth is cut off along the front. So, Using photoshop, I built the rest of the front and a little more of the wall to make the picture look more complete.

Mercury

This is a combination image I did. The Mercury itself came from an advertising image of this Monterey with a woman behind the wheel. I removed her and the rest of the background making my own with a shot I took of a now defunct church I shot in Boise's North End. All in all it came together well and I'm happy with the finished image. Oh, and for you pureists out there... Yes, those are Ford hubcaps on the Mercury.

Edsel Challenge

I received a challenge. I had someone from Facebook challenge me to do something for Halloween with an Edsel. Using photoshop, I created this. Old house in the back with it's jackolantern lights and the old Edsel sitting in front of it.

World War 1 Flying Ace

Inspiration comes from many places. So, Halloween night we watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" At the scene where the world war 1 flying ace was sneaking around and flying his Sopwith Camel. So, I created this in photoshop. Snoopy (The world war 1 Flying Ace) looking for the red baron in his sopwith camel.

1958 Plymouth

I'm a collector of diecast cars. This is a 1:18 scale 58 Plymouth Belvedere I have. Using photoshop, i decided to take the photo I took of it and make it as real looking as I could. So, I tightened up the seams. Added the parking lights above the headlights and turned them on. Added a Idaho 58 License plate and altered the headlights to look more realistic.

49 Ford Custom

My version of a 49 Ford. I found this old factory photo of a 49 Ford coupe online. I loved the color in this shot. But, I hated the proportions of the coupe. So, using photoshop, I eliminated the girl in the passenger seat. Then eliminated the top and built my own top modeled after the 51 Ford top. Then added fender skirts, and the chrome spoked wheels.

71 Monterey

Another car I drove in High School. This was mom and dad's old car. Using photoshop, I added custom wheels just to see what it would have looked like.

65 Mercury Parklane Breezeway

I love photoshop!

This is a car I owned in Highschool. Using photoshop, I tried to create what i'd have liked to have done to her if I'd  kept her. Custom wheels, new paint etc.

72 Mercury Monterey Custom

I love to imagine what certain cars would look like if they'd been designed differently. So, I found this image online of a 72 Mercury Monterey. I never liked the looks of the 72s big egg crate grill work. So, I decided to see what it would look like if they'd kept the holes smaller, tightened up the grill so it looked a litte more like the 71. It could have made the grill sturdier. I also added the custom wheels and different background.

39 Plymouth

I found this image online. It's a 1939 Plymouth. Using photoshop, I took out the guy, and added more of the passenger side and background.

2015 Looked pretty un eventful. I am still here, just not making much time for anything until now. I'm hoping I'll be able to make 2016 better!

I found this image online. A guy standing next to a 49 Buick Roadmaster coupe. It's on a used car lot somewhere. Using photoshop, I eliminated the man, then made the Buick a convertible. Then decided to see what it would look like with a couple of different cars in the shot. Like they'd set up a camera and shot multiple vehicles for sale. I think the Cadillac turned out the best.

Just beyond my reach.....

Well, It's been a while since I've posted. But, I'm back with a new image. Something that's a work in progress. I'm still trying to figure out what's just beyond my reach. Inspiration is from the song "Holding out for a hero" Obviously the song dictates there is a Hero just beyond my reach. Which is what I want to do. But, I haven't quite figured out placement for the hero's reach. At least not without making it seem like Hell is reaching out for him.
